There are numerous fish restaurants (you can find a few of them in no. 93/2018) in Varmia and Masuria but one of them is unique as it is located in the middle of the lake. Yes, yes you are right – it is situated in the middle of Lake Szymon located on Masurian canals transit route-between lake Szymonecki and lake Tałtowisko.
It is the only fish restaurant of this kind and it is reachable only by water. Located on a barge the restaurant is spacious and has all weather conditions thanks to that you can have a meal in comfortable and friendly conditions. Terns sitting on the water surface watch everything happening and expect that they will get a bite to eat too.
The menu depends on the catch of the day. Every day in the summer season you can get zander, eels, perch, vendace, whitefish and burbot from 11:00 to 19:00. Obviously, like in traditional fish restaurants meals are served on paper trays. You can eat well at a reasonable price – the best way to check is to use the fan page with the price list.
Attention! The busiest time is between 13:00 and 14:00 when tourists sail out from the northern and southern canals and appear at the barge at lunchtime. That’s why I recommend coffee just after opening time and delicious fish later in the day when it quietens down. Imagine that feeling when the sun is shining and you are eating freshly fried vendace on the barge in the middle of the lake. Can you feel it? I can and I would like to be there just right now.
